This on going project explores the theme of a multicultural community. The district of Barton & Tredworth in Gloucester is a vibrant multiculturally rich working class area. There are at present around 65 separate nationalities calling this small area of Gloucester their home, making it one of the most diverse and densely populated neighbourhoods of immigrant families in Britain.
Many of these communities have become integral to the areas character. As with any wave of immigration, they have established a number of strong community initiatives, proudly supporting each other and other residents.
The work explores the character of the area using portraiture. Through collaboration with these organisations, capturing its people from an empathetic viewpoint and sharing their commitment to the community through a visual narrative.
